"The Gardfens of Democracy" discussion, Seattle Public Library, Central Branch
February 07 at 7:00 PM
1000 Fourth Ave
Seattle,
WA
Join co-authors Eric Liu and Nick Hanauer for a lively civic discussion of "The Gardens of Democracy: A New American Story of Citizenship, the Economy, and the Role of Government." The authors of "The True Patriot" offer a visionary reexamination of American politics and economics: What if we viewed democracy not as a machine, but as a garden? A successful garden functions according to the inexorable tendencies of nature, but it also requires goals, regular tending, and an understanding of connected ecosystems. Everyone is invited to join in the discussion. Library events are free and open to the public. Tickets and reservations are not required. Parking in the Central Library garage will be available for the $5 evening rate. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event is supported by The Seattle Public Library Foundation, author series sponsor Gary Kunis, media sponsor The Seattle Times and is presented in partnership with The Elliott Bay Book Company.
